NRA Shotgun Instructor Course – Sun Oct 15, 2023 (BIT Sat Oct 14)

This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting, and teaching NRA’s Basic Shotgun Shooting course.
Prerequisite: MUST attend an NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course before enrolling in this course.
Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is also a prerequisite for certification as an NRA Shotgun Instructor.
MUST HAVE ALREADY TAKEN BASIC INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (BIT) – For current NRA Instructors adding a rating, you may be required to attend another BIT Course if you have not completed that course within the previous 2 years.
$280.00 is fee for Shotgun Instructor course. If you have not taken BIT within 2 years and need BIT, there is an additional $135.00 fee for BIT.
NOTE: Anyone interested in becoming an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor must: be at least 21 years old, be legally allowed to possess and/or own a firearm, the student must be a US Citizen and/or be Legal Resident residing in the United States. NO EXCEPTIONS As per the U.S. Department of State (ITAR-International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.
** Course fee includes class and range fees, and use of shotguns and all ammunition for the class **
*All materials will be provided upon arrival to class. NOTHING will be shipped to you.
Description: Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, and NRA Shotgun Instructor materials.
Certified instructor: 21 years of age or older
Assistant instructor: 18 years of age or older (allows youth to assist NRA Certified Shotgun Instructors)
Apprentice instructor: 13-17 years of age (allows youth to assist NRA Certified Shotgun Instructors)
Note: This certification is required for registered Boy Scout Leaders to run a Boy Scout Shotgun Range
Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel their reservation less than 7 days before the class, or “no-show” without notifying Instructors, will not be refunded and will be credited towards a future class (within 6 months, depending on upcoming course schedule, and on a case-by-case scenario).
