BIT is the mandatory Pre-Requisite for NRA Instructor Training Courses.

To become certified as an NRA Instructor, students must complete this course which teaches material common to all NRA courses. This course does not certify the instructor candidate to teach any course. Additional discipline-specific instructor training is required to certify instructor candidates to teach specific courses.

After you successfully complete NRA BIT and score at least 90% on the Trainers Exam, you should be ready for whichever discipline-specific instructor training class offered (Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol). You will demonstrate your qualifications through the Pre-Course Qualification tests associated with the specific disciplines.

NOTE: Anyone interested in becoming an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor must: be at least 21 years old, be legally allowed to possess and/or own a firearm, the student must be a US Citizen and/or be Legal Resident residing in the United States. NO EXCEPTIONS As per the U.S. Department of State (ITAR-International Traffic in Arms Regulations).

** For current NRA Instructors adding another Instructor rating, you may be required to attend another BIT Course if you have not completed that course within the previous 2 years.

Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel their reservation less than 7 days before the class, or “no-show” without notifying Instructors, will not be refunded and will be credited towards a future class (within 6 months, depending on upcoming course schedule, and on a case-by-case scenario).
