NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course, Instructor-Led — Fri July 5, 2024

This course is a Pre-Requisite   **BEFORE**  you can enroll in the NRA Pistol Instructor Course.

Course fee covers all training, materials, class + range fees, use of firearms, and all ammo is provided.  

Course is taught by 2 NRA Training Counselors and conducted in a smoke-free classroom, and on a PRIVATE range with one-on-one attention (you will not be rushed or distracted by others shooting, or the public).

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation; a hands-on practical portion conducted in a classroom and shooting range with an Instructor.

This is the PERFECT class for beginners, and all who wish to improve their shooting skills and fundamentals!!!

This is also the first step to become a Pistol Instructor (the 2nd step is completing BIT {Basic Instructor Training} immediately following the Basic Pistol class, then the 3rd step is completing the Pistol Instructor class, which will be offered the next day), as well as the pathway to become a Texas LTC Instructor. Per the NRA guidelines, we need a minimum of FOUR students for a class to ‘make.’

*All materials will be provided upon arrival to class.  NOTHING will be shipped to you.

Instructor Led Only Training: The Instructor Led Only takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment.  Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety.  Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.

Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.

Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel their reservation less than 7 days before the class, or “no-show” without notifying Instructors, will not be refunded and will be credited towards a future class (within 6 months, depending on upcoming course schedule, and on a case-by-case scenario).
