Prerequisite: MUST have an NRA Basic Pistol Certificate – INSTRUCTOR LED course – and show proof of NRA completion certificate before enrolling in this course. This course will build on the fundamentals learned in the Basic Pistol course. Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is also a prerequisite for enrolling in this course.

NOTE: Anyone interested in taking the NRA CCW basic course must: be at least 21 years old, be legally allowed to possess and/or own a firearm, be a US Citizen and/or be Legal Resident residing in the United States. NO EXCEPTIONS As per the U.S. Department of State (ITAR-International Traffic in Arms Regulations). 

This class does not include the Texas LTC and is not a “license to carry” or “conceal carry” certification course – rather in the NRA CCW (Conceal Carry Workshop) course, instructors will teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense, and this course teaches the basics of how to draw from concealment and engage a target.

The NRA CCW Course exposes students to several schools of thought regarding defensive shooting techniques and is geared toward anyone wanting to improve their shooting skills. Too many graduates of the NRA Basic Pistol course go home, put their pistol in the nightstand, and leave it there indefinitely. Students will be encouraged to train and practice and challenged to continue developing skills by getting involved in shooting activities, joining a gun club, participating in the NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program, and/or shooting in competitions.

This course will cover: Firearm safety, selecting a pistol and ammo for self-defense, basic defensive pistol skills, drawing from concealment and engaging targets through a variety of drills on the range.

Must bring to this class:

• Pistol appropriate for concealed carry – recommend minimum of 9mm or .38 Special
• Quality Strong Side OWB Hip Holster – recommend form fitted leather or kydex, must cover trigger + trigger guard
• Quality Belt, designed to carry a holster and a firearm
• 200 rounds of factory ammunition (no reloads)
• Spare magazines or speed loaders with appropriate pouches – at least two additional (3 total)
• Clothing appropriate for concealed carry
• Eye protection
• Hearing protection – recommend electronic muffs

Cancellation Policy: Students who cancel their reservation less than 7 days before the class, or “no-show” without notifying Instructors, will not be refunded and will be credited towards a future class (within 6 months, depending on upcoming course schedule, and on a case-by-case scenario).
