NRA RIFLE INSTRUCTOR COURSE

This course has Pre-Requisites **BEFORE** you can enroll:

  • MUST have already taken and passed the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course, and
  • MUST have already taken Basic Instructor Training (BIT) - For current NRA Instructors adding a rating, you may be required to attend another BIT Course if you have not completed that course within the previous 2 years.

Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is also a prerequisite for certification as an NRA Rifle Instructor.

NOTE: Anyone interested in becoming an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor must: be at least 21 years old, be legally allowed to possess and/or own a firearm, the student must be a US Citizen and/or be Legal Resident residing in the United States. NO EXCEPTIONS As per the U.S. Department of State (ITAR-International Traffic in Arms Regulations).

This course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Rifle Shooting course.

The fee for the Rifle Instructor course is $280.

If you need BIT there’s additional $135 fee.

Course fee includes all training, materials, class fees, range fees, use of firearms, and all ammo is provided.

Course is taught by 2 NRA Training Counselors and conducted in a smoke-free classroom, and on a PRIVATE range with one-on-one attention. (You will not be rushed or distracted by others shooting, or the public). This is YOUR time!

Per NRA, we need min. of 4 students for a class.

Instructor Classifications:

Certified instructor: 21 years of age or older

Assistant instructor: 18 years of age or older (allows youth to assist NRA Certified Rifle Instructors)

Apprentice instructor: 13-17 years of age (allows youth to assist NRA Certified Rifle Instructors)

Note: This certification is required for registered Boy Scout Leaders to run a Boy Scout Rifle Range
