This is a combo course which covers the Range Safety Officer (RSO) course material, as well as the Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) course material.  NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) must be current within 2-years.  We will get you updated if you have not taken BIT, or if your BIT has expired.

The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

This course is conducted in a classroom (there is no live fire during this course). RSO/CRSO Candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO and CRSO; Range Standard Procedures (SOPs); range inspections/ range rules/ range briefings/ emergency procedures/ and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Note: The RSO certification is required for registered Boy Scout Leaders to serve as a Range Safety Officer at a Boy Scout (Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun) Range
