This comprehensive 14–15 hour eLearning program is designed to offer the most efficient and straightforward way to meet California’s training requirements for obtaining a CCW permit. The course delivers detailed instruction on firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, state and federal laws, legal responsibilities, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and practical self-defense decision-making. It provides everything you need to be fully prepared for safe, responsible, and lawful concealed carry in California.
For the first time in modern history, California now allows non-residents to apply for a concealed carry permit and authorizes online training to fulfill the classroom requirement for both residents and non-residents. This update follows litigation brought by the California Rifle & Pistol Association against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, in which the court ruled that non-California residents must be permitted to apply for a CCW. The policy officially took effect on April 22, 2025.
